Chinese youngsters top medal table at WorldSkills Competition

The Chinese delegation emerged victorious from the 44th WorldSkills Competition in Abu Dhabi, winning 15 gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals in this "Olympics of vocational skills" before it finished on Thursday.
The country’s biggest medals haul in the event came as over 1,300 competitors from across the world competed in 51 skills.
The Chinese team had 52 contestants with an average age under 21. They took part in 47 competitions in six categories – transportation and logistics, structure and building technology, manufacturing and engineering technology, information and communications technology, creative art and fashion, and social and personal services, according to Xinhua

China’s Song Biao was awarded the Albert Vidal award, granted to the competitor with the highest score overall across all skill competitions.
China won its very first medal at the 43rd WorldSkills Competition two years ago, but its youngsters are increasingly showing off their talents on the global stage.
In October, Shanghai won its bid to host the 46th WorldSkills Competition in 2021, to bring the event to China for the first time.
