Jordanian King in India: King Abdullah seeks to boost cooperation with New Delhi

Jordanian King Abdullah is looking forward to a new historic chapter in relations between his country and India. The king is visiting India for three days to boost trade and cooperation between the two sides. Shweta Bajaj has more.
SHWETA BAJAJ NEW DELHI "King Abdullah, accompanied by a large business delegation and officials, is in India on a three-day official visit. Both the countries are looking at exploring areas of infrastructure, healthcare, renewable energy, fertilisers, chemicals, FMCG and media. FICCI – Federation of Indian chambers of commerce and Industry and the Jordan Chambers of Commerce also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote, strengthen and expand, trade and economic, scientific and technological cooperation between the two nations. Indian prime minister and King Abdullah also attended an event where they both vowed to fight against terrorism and radicalisation and not against any religion. The delegation level talks led to the two countries signing many MoU's. MoU on Defence Cooperation - Purpose of the MoU is to promote cooperation between India and Jordan in the field of Defence with specific attention on areas like training; defence industry; counter-terrorism; military studies; cyber security; military medical services, peace-keeping etc. Visa waiver for diplomatic and official passport holders - This Agreement provides for permitting the diplomats and Official passport holders of India and Jordan to enter into, exit and transit through the territory of each other without requirement of visa.
