A quarrel between young locals and migrants in Derb el Kebir districts descended into chaos. The neighborhood is the location of precarious shelters for hundreds of migrants from sub-Saharan Africa. Both sides set garbage bins on fire and hurled stones at each other. No injuries were reported in the incident. Sub-Saharan migrants pass through Morocco to reach Europe, but many end up settling in the country. Morocco is currently completing a regularization operation for some 25,000 applications
