Dozens of beach-goers gathered at the Laswitan Lagoon in Surigao del Sur, the Philippines, to experience this unique natural phenomenon. The lagoon is behind a 20ft high rock formation near the shore. This geological feature creates a natural basin. When the tide comes in, the huge wave flows and spills into the main basin on the other side, creating a waterfall effect.
