China-Uruguay Ties: Chinese foreign minister meets with Uruguayan counterpart

Uruguay's Foreign Minister, Rodolfo Nin Novoa, is paying a ten-day visit to China. Rodolfo met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday. As the third visit of the Uruguayan Minister since 2016, it represents a big step towards the strengthening of bilateral ties. This year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the visit, activities and seminars promoting the country will be held under the theme "Uruguay Week", which will take place in Beijing, Chongqing and Guangzhou.  
WANG YI CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER "This is the year for us to carry forward our cause and forge ahead into the future. We will further sum up the experience of thirty years of ties and plan for the next step and key areas of cooperation."
