American sprinter Noah Lyles equaled a season's best time of 19.69 seconds in the men's 200m race on Thursday's IAAF Diamond League athletics meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The 20-year-old Lyles, who also shares the yearly 100m lead, had enough up his sleeve to deny his compatriot Michael Norman (19.88 seconds) and remained unbeaten during the match. The time tied his personal best and the world leading time, which he shares with Clarence Munyai of South Africa.

After celebrating with an impromptu trackside dance, Lyles said "19.69 seconds is great but you can always improve".
"I'm a little disappointed in the time. I wanted to run faster and make that world lead my own. I'm trying to go 19.4. It is a time that has been flashing in my head for a while now and I think it is about time to do it."
Only Jamaicans Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake and American Michael Johnson have ever run faster, with the retired Bolt holding the world record at 19.19 seconds.
He added: "My life goals are big - I want to be as good if not better than Michael Johnson and Justin Gatlin."
