His visit to Beijing, scheduled from October 25 to 27, marks the first official visit to China by a Japanese prime minister in seven years.
Earlier, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held a welcome ceremony for Abe in Beijing, followed by talks between them.

Maintain long-term China-Japan relations

Li and Abe attended a joint press conference to announce the outcomes of Abe's visit.
Li and Abe told reporters that both China and Japan have agreed to step up cooperation in multiple areas, from finance, trade, innovation, sports, cultural exchange to high-level dialogue.
The two countries decided to set next year as a year to enhance exchange between young people.

During the press conference, Li said China is willing to maintain long-term China-Japan relations which is beneficial to the stability of the region.
"We have common goals and responsibilities for stability in the region," Abe said, adding Japan will try to normalize diplomatic relation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Li and Abe also attended the first forum on China-Japan third-party cooperation in Beijing on Friday.
Li said pragmatic cooperation is the ballast as well as a propeller of the bilateral relations. The premier extended his welcome to Japanese enterprises as China is further opening its market.
At the forum, more than 50 cooperation agreements were reached between local governments, financial institutions and enterprises from the two sides, with the total amount exceeding 18 billion US dollars.
Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Li Zhanshu also met with the Japanese prime minister. The top legislator called for the enhancement of exchanges at various levels between the legislative bodies of the two countries, which can bring political, legal and policy support for the development of bilateral ties.
