One dead, 44 injured after passenger train derails in north Spain

A commuter train carrying 131 people derailed outside the Spanish city of Barcelona on Tuesday, killing one person and leaving 44 injured, officials confirmed.
The crash that occurred between the northeastern towns of Terrassa and Manresa was caused due to a landslide, a spokeswoman for the train company said.

Rescue workers are trying to free passengers trapped in the wreckage, Spanish television reported.
The north of Spain has suffered heavy rains in the last few days causing flooding and landslides.
