‍Every May, Fanjingshan fir trees on Mount Fanjingshan in southwest China's Guizhou Province embrace their flowering period.
The fir can grow up to 22 meters in height, as tall as a seven-floor building. But it's very fragile. One cracked branch can spell doom for the entire tree.
Fanjingshan fir, or Abies fanjingshanensis, can only be found in a small area in Guizhou Province. It is under first-class state protection and considered as “Endangered” by the IUCN Red List.
CGTN Nature's documentary crew is currently filming at Mount Fanjingshan. The footage they sent back gives a glimpse of this amazing biodiversity hub.
Stay tuned to more stunning videos about the mountain.
