Record numbers of flamingos have been breeding in the south of Spain thanks to heavy rainfall and hot temperatures. To help count and monitor the new arrivals, hundreds of volunteers have come to the Fuente de Piedra natural reserve. They are catching, tagging and releasing the chicks in a special event called “bird ring.”
