On Wednesday, bottom club Guizhou Zhicheng notched up a rare victory by beating Chongqing Lifan 4-3, with Brazilian striker Alan Kardec bagging a hat-trick, but there was another more thrilling game that involved nine goals.

Roger Schmidt's Beijing Guoan made light of the absence of leading scorer Cedric Bakambu on Thursday by steamrolling Hebei CFFC in an action-packed 6-3 win at the Workers' Stadium. Jonathan Soriano's hat-trick propels the capital club to the top of the CSL, a point clear of Shandong Luneng, who managed a 3-1 comeback victory against Shanghai Shenhua.
Elsewhere, ex-Chelsea star Oscar's brace helped third-placed Shanghai SIPG seal a 4-1 win over Tianjin Quanjian while Fabio Cannavaro's Guangzhou Evergrande eased past Tianjin Teda with a 3-0 victory thanks in no small part to Paulinho's two brilliant goals.

Dragan Stojkovic's Guangzhou R&F had got in on the act, handing Beijing Renhe a 4-1 thrashing with Midfielder Chen Zhizhao netting a spectacular long-range belter.
Helped drastically by Dalian Yifang's fragile defense, Changchun Yatai cruised to a 3-0 victory at a packed Changchun stadium while Jiangsu Suning were winners by a single goal at Henan Jianye.
That took the goals tally to 37 for a matchday that will live long in the memory of Chinese soccer aficionados.
