Thousands of milky white egret chicks are born during the current breeding season at the Xiangshan Forest Park in east China's Jiangxi Province.
The park in the provincial capital Nanchang City is home to over 200,000 birds of nine subspecies in the family Ardeidae, including great egrets and night herons.
Every year from March to August, the birds come here to rest and raise families.
The fluffy breeding plumage is a distinctive feature of the great egret during the breeding season.

"An egret couple usually has four to five eggs that hatch out three to four baby egrets. Every morning, at six, seven o'clock when the day breaks, the parents would go out and seek food," said Xiong Xinming, chief of a local forestry work station.
