Today, May 19, marks the 9th China Tourism Day. This year's theme is "the integration of culture and travel, a better life". To celebrate this particular day, the cultural and tourism authorities across the country have organized a number of themed events as well as preferential measures, including the special discounts or free admission on some tourist attractions and museums in China. Beijing
81 AAAA (4A) and AAAAA (5A) scenic spots in Beijing have already carried out various forms of theme promotions on this day and many scenic spots have implemented special ticket discounts, according to the report from China Tourism News.

The Ming City Wall Ruins Park and the Beijing Auto Museum have provided free entry for all visitors today. The Temple of Confucius and Imperial College are free of charge for Beijingers.
The entrance fee on the Beijing International Flower Port and the Olympic Water Park is free for advanced workers, model workers, disabled people and the elderly aged 60 or above.

The scenic ticket for the night show at Beijing Happy Valley is only 51.9 yuan (7.5 U.S. dollars).
Shanghai
According to the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism, 70 tourist attractions across the city have offered half-price admission on this day, including the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, the Shanghai Tower, the 88th-floor observatory of the Jin Mao Tower and the Bund's sightseeing tunnel.

A cruise tour on the Huangpu River, which costs 120 yuan (17.7 U.S. dollars) usually, will be halved on the day as well. In addition, the Shanghai Disney Resort, one of the most popular attractions in the city, will offer discounted admission after 3 p.m. on the day.

Shaanxi
Wulongdong National Forest Park offers free entry for all visitors today.

The Dashuichuan Scenic Spot and the Jiulong Mountain Scenic Area have provided the half-price admission, with 35 yuan (5.1 U.S. dollars) per person and 40 yuan (5.8 U.S. dollars) per person respectively on May 19.
Meanwhile, the Daming Palace Site Park offered half-price admission for 30 yuan (4.3 U.S. dollars) per person, and visitors who wear the traditional Hanfu (Han Chinese clothing) can enjoy a free entrance.

In terms of poverty alleviation measures for tourism, some Chinese cities have implemented free admission on some scenic spots for poverty-stricken families and disabled people. For example, the Xinluo Longgong Cave Scenic Area and the Colorful Lantian Resort in Fujian Province's Longyan City are free of charge today for them.
A series of activities during China Tourism Day will further stimulate people's enthusiasm for travel. The culture and tourism departments need to promote the integration of culture and tourism, develop the diversity of travel industry and provide more high-quality tourism products and services to enhance people's sense of happiness.

A large number of tourists are expected at some scenic areas because of the discounted ticket admission, and visitors might encounter limiting measures or overcrowding. Those who don't like traveling with tourist crowds are recommended to avoid arranging tours on May 19.
