Big rise in UEFA Champions League prize money

The UEFA Champions League will put more money into the pockets of the 32 teams this season while the winner will receive as much as 129 million US dollars, reported the UK's Daily Mirror.
Total prize money for the next three years is around 2.21 billion dollars, which means that each team can get at least 17.28 million dollars.

Every victory a team achieves during the group stage will bring in about 3.05 million dollars, a big rise compared with the 1.74 million dollars of the past season. Even a draw will be worth 1.02 million dollars (697,000 dollars last season).
At the knockout stage, clubs will earn about 10.7 million dollars for reaching the round of 16, 11.9 million dollars for the quarterfinals and 13.6 million dollars for the semifinals. By contrast, the bonuses for the three stages last season were respectively 6.99 million, 7.56 million and 8.72 million dollars.

The two teams in the final will both pocket 17.1 million dollars (13 million dollars last season) while the winner can get an extra 4.53 million dollars, which is the only bonus reduced from the previous 5.8 million dollars.
Besides the above, all 32 teams will also get an additional bonus the amount of which will be decided by their co-efficient rankings based on their performances in the last decade. Real Madrid with three UEFA Champions League titles in a row will bank 45.3 million dollars while the 32nd team can collect 1.25 million dollars.
