Life at sea: A glimpse on board Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning

China's first aircraft carrier, Liaoning, has over 20 levels and more than 3,000 cabins. It can accommodate over 1,000 people.
Everyone boarding the carrier must pass a security check and swipe his or her license card to enter.

Two people are in charge of laundry for the entire crew, cleaning around 500 kg of clothes every day. Crew members who want their clothes cleaned can just put their garments in bags, label the bags with their names, and place the bags in a basket. When the laundry is done, they will get a notice to take their clothes.

The aircraft carrier’s book corner is open to all crew members and accepts donations.

To cater for over 1,000 crew members on board, the aircraft carrier has around a dozen canteens offering different styles of cuisine.

Nearly 100 female crew members are typically on board the aircraft carrier. To enter the living area of the female crew members, you must be authorized and scan your fingerprint.

Crew members can use a gym, and also play basketball, table tennis and badminton on the aircraft carrier.

The carrier is equipped with a pharmacy, clinic, X-ray room and even an operating room.
