Peruvian archaeologists said on Wednesday that an ancient ceremonial site, human skeletons and other artifacts have been discovered in northwestern Peru. The most spectacular part of the discovery is that the site is an exact copy of another temple in the country's Wari zone. The Wari cultures were a Middle Horizon civilization that flourished in the coastal area of Peru from about 600 to 1000 C.E. The Wari influence at the site means the date Cajamarca and Wari cultures will have to be reconsidered.
