China's Chen Shi and Quan Xin won gold medals in the canoe/kayak events at the Asian Games on Thursday.
Chen took gold in the canoe single women’s event and Qun Xin in the kayak single men's final.
Chen, 25, finished her race with the best score 110.32, surpassing her opponents Chen Weihan (111.14) of Chinese Taipei and Duanglawa Atcharaporn (116.34) of Thailand.

In Incheon four years ago, Chen placed fifth during the canoe event but was first at the 2017 Asian Championships in Thailand.
Quan, 21, was first with a score of 89.38, defeating Adachi Kazuya (90.26) of Japan and Husslein Hermann Ludwig (90.40) of Thailand.

Quan began his kayak career at the age of 14 in the city of Zhangzhou in China’s southeastern Fujian Province. His ambition is to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. He was second in the kayak event during the 2016 Asian Championships in Toyama, Japan.
