May 31 is World No Tobacco Day. It serves as an opportunity to raise awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco use and as a call to action. Tobacco kills more than 7 million people each year. Over 6 million people each year lose their lives as a result of direct tobacco use. Exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke causes an estimated 890,000 deaths globally each year. Quitting tobacco is never easy. But it can be done. It’s never too late to quit smoking.
