For Real Madrid, what could bring more happiness than winning three Champions League titles in a row? The answer obviously lies in the competition's prize money table published by UEFA.

The Spanish giants topped the list in receiving a whopping 101.2 million US dollars after lifting the trophy in May, according to European football's governing body.

Beaten finalist Liverpool eclipsed their Premier League rivals by pocketing 93 million US dollars, while semifinalist Roma received the second highest windfall of 95.7 million US dollars because the Serie A club gained a much bigger share of broadcasting rights money in their own country.

Juventus, Bayern Munich and Chelsea were the next biggest earners, gaining 91 million US dollars, 80 million US dollars and 74 million US dollars respectively.

Under the current distribution system, the amounts given to clubs is related to the performance of all teams from the same member association and is in line with their proportional value of the TV market.

Of the 32 group-stage teams, FK Qarabag's 19.2 million US dollars was the lowest share of almost 1.65 billion US dollars in the UEFA prize fund.

Europa League winner Atletico Madrid led the second-tier competition's money table with 56 million US dollars, while English powerhouse Arsenal earned 38 million US dollars. Defeated finalist Marseille took home 26 million US dollars from their run to the final last season.

In 2017, top earner Juventus raked in 130.4 million US dollars from the Champions League and Leicester City edged title-winning Real Madrid for second place by banking 96.5 million US dollars.
