Last year, China's new energy initiatives accounted for 40 percent of global renewable energy capacity, making the country among the world leaders in slashing emissions. 55 percent of the country's new energy consumption came from clean energy, replacing 750 million tonnes of thermal coal. China has also proposed a "China plan" to cope with global warming.
