‍Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Monday called for closer alignment of China's Belt and Road Initiative with Indonesia's Global Maritime Fulcrum (GMF) doctrine, during talks with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Li's three-day visit to Indonesia takes place as this year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership and the 15th anniversary of the strategic partnership between China and the ASEAN.
Li called on the two countries to strengthen capacity cooperation and push forward the cooperation in the construction of the high-speed rail link connecting its capital Jakarta with Bandung and Indonesia's Regional Integrated Economic Corridors initiative.

"We should also deepen cooperation in fishery processing, and encourage Chinese companies to expand investment in Indonesia. We hope Indonesia can provide more policy support and convenience," said the premier.
Li also stressed that Beijing is willing to work with Jakarta to jointly promote the upgrading of China-ASEAN cooperation, build a new "4+1" sub-regional cooperation model with Indonesia and other four countries in ASEAN, and accelerate the negotiation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the construction of the East Asian Economic Community to promote East Asian economic integration.
