China, Azerbaijan look to deepen cooperation on various fronts

Azerbaijan is China's important partner in Euraisa, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday, adding that he hopes to see more exchanges between the two sides in areas including culture, education, and local-level dialogues in the future.
President Xi made the remarks while meeting his Azerbaijan counterpart Ilham Aliyev, who's in Beijing to attend the second Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation.
Azerbaijan is among the first nations to join the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), President Xi pointed out, adding that fruitful results have been achieved since then.
Aliyev echoed President Xi's thoughts, vowing to give unswerving support in regards to issues concerning China's core interests. The president also looks to further promote regional connection by building a path linking the Capsian Sea with the world.
