Anju Ancient Town, established in 588, is located at the junction of the Peijiang and Qiongjiang rivers in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. The name Anju stands for living and working in peace and contentment. Nearly 1,500 years later, the town is still preserved in the style of Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
