More than 15,000 people have been battling a forest fire Friday in Qinyuan County in north China’s Shanxi Province. The fire burned an area as large as 600 hectares, 4,670 nearby villagers have been evacuated to safe areas and no casualties were reported. After days of multiple efforts, the fire is now under control, according to the Monday media briefing by the local government.
