Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Tuesday that China is happy to see peace, stability, prosperity and openness of the United Kingdom and the European Union when he met former UK Prime Minister David Cameron in Beijing.
The UK and the EU have reached an agreement on Brexit, which draws global attention, said Li.
The UK and the EU are both important partners of China and China will continue to promote the healthy and stable development of China-UK and China-EU relations, Li noted.

He added that China is willing to work with the UK and the EU to safeguard multilateralism and free trade.
He also hailed Cameron's efforts to promote China-UK ties when he was British prime minister.
China is willing to deepen cooperation with the UK in key areas such as economy, trade and finance, and explore the potential of cooperation in investment and achieve more mutually beneficial and win-win results in the development of Sino-British relations, said Li.
Cameron, for his part, said currently bilateral cooperation continues to deepen, and two-way investment and trade continue to grow. The UK will continue to firmly support rule-based multilateralism and free trade, he added.
