The death toll from typhoon Mangkhut has risen to 74 in the Philippines. Most of the victims are small-scale gold miners and their families who took refuge in a building abandoned by a large mining firm. Hundreds of Philippine rescuers used shovels and their bare hands on Tuesday to sift through a massive landslide.
