The annual Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival, hailed as Europe's largest ice sculpture festival, kicked off on Saturday in the town of Zwolle. /VCG Photo
Themed at "world-famous stories", ice sculptors from around the world turned characters from "Alice in Wonderland," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and many more into magnificent ice sculptures. /VCG Photo
Over 100 frozen art pieces were created using 275,000 kilograms of ice and the same amount of shimmering snow. /VCG Photo
The exhibits are showcased in a large freezer hall with maximum temperature at minus 10 degrees, so visitors have to brave the cold while appreciating the magical ice sculptures. /VCG Photo
The festival runs until March 3, 2019. /VCG Photo
