The Central Meeting on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs was held in Beijing from Friday to Saturday. Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and head of the FAC, delivered a keynote speech to the meeting.

Xi underlined the importance of making new progress on major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, under the guidance of socialist diplomatic ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
