Beijing saw its first snowfall of the year on Wednesday amid celebrations marking the Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year. At about 6 a.m., light snow started to fall in Beijing's Yanqing District, where the 2022 Winter Olympic Games will be held. As the snow kept falling, squares, parks and streets in Yanqing were all covered with a thin layer of white powder. The contrast of white snow and red Spring Festival lanterns created a beautiful scene.
