Trial events for 2022 Winter Olympics to be held in Zhangjiakou

All five venues in north China's Zhangjiakou City will be completed this year for trial events in preparation for the 2022 Winter Olympics, according to Wu Weidong, Mayor of Zhangjiakou City.
Located some 200 kilometers northwest of Beijing, Zhangjiakou will host all snowboarding, freestyle skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined and biathlon competitions during the Olympics.
Preparation work for hosting trial events -FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in 2021 - will start later this year.

"Zhangjiakou will promote its 'Technological Winter Olympics Plan' this year by drafting and implementing a series of intelligent technologies, which will be applied to the competition venues, transportation system, security management, and many other aspects," Wu added.
Sixty-five of a total of 76 Games-related construction projects are under construction in the city, ranging from competition venues to major infrastructure, with another 11 to be launched this year.
