An underwater robot set a diving record in 2018 using Chinese technology. One of China's underwater robots, the Haixing 6000, also known as Starfish 6000, set a national depth record for a Chinese remotely operated vehicle in October by diving 6,001 meters below the sea surface during its first research expedition.
