The 2018 International Motorcycle Rolling Thunder Parade opened in north China's Datong on Saturday morning. It has become an annual international event in the ancient city of Datong since last year.
More than 5,000 motorcycle riders from around 30 countries and regions in the world took part in the event, with more than 2,000 cool vehicles. Local officials say it's the biggest of its kind in China.

The opening ceremony was held at a gate of the city walls in Datong, one of the starting points of the parade.
During the two-day event, these motorcycles went across the city and traveled to some nearby tourists attractions, including the famous Yungang Grottoes, Xuankong (Suspended) Temple, the ancient Great Wall relics and a volcanic cluster.

Datong has been a renowned ancient city in China with a history of over 2,000 years. While the motorcycle parade was underway, the city became where the antiquity clashed with modernity, and tranquility with passion and speed.
