Spring Festival: Home away from home

“It's the most wonderful time of the year.”
It doesn't matter who comes to whom for Spring Festival, as long as the family stays together. Parents travel to big cities to meet their grown-up children who work there. Or, city residents go out of town with the whole family to enjoy the leisure they don't normally have access to.
Hotels are not the only choice of accommodation anymore. If there is an opportunity to have the chef of the family bring the traditional family dish to the table, then watch TV together in the living room, and you don't have to pay the price a hotel suite would usually charge during festival season, would you be tempted?

Those who have tourist sites at their doorsteps know they can develop rental accommodation. In Shixia Village at the foot of the Great Wall, many households are dedicated to transforming themselves into tourist-friendly accommodations. Songyang County, which is affiliated with Lishui City in the province of Zhejiang, is another naturally privileged place that has beautiful mountains and rivers near it. For this Spring Festival, it's nearly impossible to find availability in Songyang for the week of Chinese New Year's Eve. Guangdong Province, as one of the most popular travel destinations in China, even has apps only for house hunting such as “Weila” and “Qushu.”
My parents are visiting me this Spring Festival. For us, enjoying the sun in a lovely yard of a house in or outside of the city would be just as nice as any other way to spend the holiday.
