With the weather cooling off, many visitors have been eyeing a tour to Dongchuan district in Kunming city, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province, to take a look at the renowned “red land.”
The climate here is warm and moist, which helps to form the special soil rich of iron and aluminum. The area extends for around 250 kilometers and has become a growing tourist destination loved by photographers.

It is also dubbed as “God’s palette.” The best time to visit the area is from September to December, when some areas are bare with the red color, while others were covered with green plants.
With the blue sky and white clouds as its backdrops, the landscape makes a perfect early autumn scenery.
