With the recent detente on the Korean Peninsula, the inter-Korean relations and the DPRK-US ties have all achieved positive progress, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Monday.
China welcomes the positive outcomes achieved during the new round of high-level talks between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Hua told a daily briefing.

Currently, the ROK and the DPRK are pushing forward and implementing the Panmunjom Declaration, confirming a common goal of complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, said Hua.
"We hope the two can further demonstrate goodwill, engage in positive interactions so as to jointly unlock the door to denuclearization, peace and prosperity of the Peninsula."
"Recently the DPRK and the US have conducted close communications and achieved positive progress in the preparations for their leaders' meeting and another important step has been taken along the right path of politically resolving the Korean Peninsula issue. We are pleased to see that," Hua added.

In response to new progress on the Korean Peninsula issue, Hua reaffirmed China's stance that the current situation on the Korean Peninsula is facing a rare historic opportunity and the DPRK-US summit holds the key to whether we can find out the way to achieve the denuclearization and lasting peace on the Peninsula.
"We hope and support that the DPRK and the US can continue to meet each other halfway, demonstrate sincerity to each other, actively prepare for the summit and strive to achieve the outcomes that the two sides and the international community wish to see so as to make positive contributions to ushering in a new era for the Peninsula featuring denuclearization, peace, and prosperity."
