The announcement made by the DPRK’s leader Kim Jong Un on Friday has attracted global attention. He announced his decision to suspend nuclear and missile tests, and shift national focus to promoting the country’s economic development.
Teng Jianqun, director for the Department of American Studies at China Institute of International Studies, talked to CGTN about Kim Jong Un’s return to the negotiating table. Teng said that the DPRK needs to cooperate with other countries in the world, and returning to the table will provide opportunities.
