Four people have been been confirmed dead in a shooting incident at a Chicago hospital.
Among the dead are a police officer and the gunman who started the shooting in the parking lot of Mercy Hospital on the city's South Side on Monday and then burst into the medical facility and opened fire, according to local media.
Police secured the hospital and patients were safe, the hospital said Monday afternoon.
Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said one of the women killed was in a domestic relationship with the gunman.
Eyewitnesses told reporters the shooting began in the parking lot before moving into a clinic area inside the hospital.
