After climbing a cliff on the way to and back from school for 31 years, students from an isolated village in SW China's Guizhou Province now have an easier, shorter commute following its relocation on May 5. /Xinhua Photo
The Hachong group of the Miao ethnic Wafang Village consists of 68 people from 16 families. The local government built a school in 1987 so that the children could receive an education. /Xinhua Photo

Local residents will also be gradually relocated to the town under the national poverty-lifting policy. However, some of the villages are worried that there will not be enough farmland or acquaintances in their new home. /Xinhua Photo
