Xiamen Air’s flight MF8268 heading for Jinan from Urumqi was forced to turn back due to mechanical issues on Wednesday morning.

The plane took off from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport at 10:33 a.m. BJT but was forced to turn around due to a mechanical problem. It landed safely at the airport at 12:05 p.m. after dumping fuel. All of the 144 passengers are safe.

Staff members are now fixing the plane’s mechanical malfunction.

The airline will transport the passengers to their destination via another flight.
