A restaurant in the northern Japanese city of Sapporo exploded and burst into flames on Sunday night. Police say 42 people were injured, one of them seriously. Firefighters have been battling the blaze amid collapsed buildings. The cause of the blast in the Toyohira district is not yet known, however some local residents believe it was a gas explosion.
