Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is all set for a remarkable comeback. The legendary United manager is currently out of intensive care after undergoing emergency brain surgery at the weekend Salford Royal Hospital.
The Premier League club issued a statement on Wednesday saying: “Sir Alex no longer needs intensive care and will continue rehabilitation as an inpatient. His family have been overwhelmed by the level of support and good wishes but continue to request privacy as this will be vital during this next stage of recovery.”
Ferguson suffered a brain hemorrhage on Saturday and was put in an induced coma after his life-saving operation.

The 76-year-old coaching icon retired as United manager in May 2013 after winning 38 trophies over the course of his illustrious career with the club. One of the greatest managers in English football since Matt Busby and Bill Shankly, Ferguson emphatically guided the Red Devils to the perch of world club football. Even after his retirement Ferguson has been associated with the club as an advisor and was seen felicitating Arsene Wenger a few days back during the French manager’s farewell trip to Old Trafford.
Earlier in the day, United’s current manager Jose Mourinho remarked: “It’s private. His family asked for privacy and that’s what I’m going to respect. [The club] are positive, they are very positive. We are confident.”
