Oman and Vietnam book last 16 spots at AFC Asian Cup

After 36 group stage matches, all the last 16 teams were confirmed at the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 on Thursday, with Oman and Vietnam clinching the last two tickets for the knockout round.
On Sunday, Group A's winners Jordan will face Vietnam in Dubai, while Thailand, who finished second, meet Group C runners-up China, as the Chinese side lost to South Korea 0-2 in their last group match. Oman, the third-place team from Group F, will go up against Iran, who dominated Group D.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will face Japan, the four-time Asian Cup champions, in the last of 16 on Monday, after their defeat to Qatar in the top-of-the-table Group E clash in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. 
Defending champions Australia, recovering from their shock opening defeat to the Jordanians, play Uzbekistan. And the host UAE has Group C's second from bottom side Kyrgyzstan.
On Tuesday, Group C winners South Korea will be favorites against Group A's third-best team Bahrain, and the impressive Group E winners Qatar will take on Group D runners-up Iraq.
