For the IAAF Diamond League Stockholm stop, China's Asian Games champion Chen Yang took bronze in the women's discus, after a personal best throw for this season.
It was raining with a low temperature in Stockholm, but many audiences still came to the spot to watch the game. Chen Yang and Feng Bin were the main forces of Chinese women's discus throw team. Chen Yang have won gold while Feng Bin have won silver in last year's Jakarta Asian Games. Chen was also the gold medalist of this event in the 2017 Asian athletics championships held in India.

Born in 1991 in north China's Hebei Province, Chen have made steady progress in the past two years, with a personal best of 67.03 meters. Having missed her initial attempt because of a foul, Chen improved in the next five throws, and finished with 64.25 meters, her personal best this season. That proved to be enough for a spot on the podium. Chen was followed by her compatriot Feng Bin, who made it 63.87 meters.
Demia Caballero from Cuba won the title with 65.10 meters, after setting this year's world best mark of 68.46 meters in Shanghai two weeks ago. Her country-woman Yaime Perez took the silver medal.
