The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has officially confirmed Saturday's rocket launch. The country's official news agency reported on Sunday that DPRK leader Kim Jong Un guided a strike drill of defense units the day before. It said that it was designed to inspect the operation of modern, large-caliber long-range rocket launchers and tactical guided weapons. Kim called on the army to be on high alert to defend the country.
