Chinese lawmakers gathered in Beijing on Tuesday morning for the annual session of the country's National People's Congress (NPC), a two-week event that charts the country's course in the year to come. Premier Li Keqiang delivered a government work report which reviewed the past year and outlined the path for 2019.
Looking back at 2018, Li said the main goals in economic and social development were met. He noted that the country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.6 percent, exceeding 90 trillion yuan, adding that the main economic indicators were kept within an appropriate range.
