An opening ceremony was held for the China Media Group-Rossiyskaya Gazeta joint commentary studio in Moscow on Wednesday local time.  

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, and Pavel Negoitsa, president of Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, attended the ceremony and jointly unveiled the new studio.

Shen said that in the face of the profound changes in the global political and economic landscape, the leaders of China and Russia have shown great foresight and made steady progress in the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.

At the same time, the media of the two countries have shared mutual trust and learned from each other to boost the all-round development of bilateral relations and spread the voice of justice for the international community, he added.

Shen also pointed out that the opening of the joint commentary studio is a new attempt made by CMG and Rossiyskaya Gazeta to improve the guidance of public opinion of mainstream media in China and Russia in the light of the overall development of China-Russia relations.

Commentary is the soul and brand of media, Shen said. He hopes that both sides can take this opportunity to further deepen all-round cooperation and enhance brand influence by innovating the media cooperation model. Besides, let the voice of fairness, justice, and truth spread far and wide, and contribute to the development of China-Russia relations and the friendship between the two peoples from generation to next.

Negoitsa said that Rossiyskaya Gazeta has maintained a good cooperative relationship with CMG over the years.

The opening of the joint commentary studio marks another important step forward in the cooperation. Negoitsa also hoped that the two sides continue to give full play to their respective advantages, make full use of new media and technologies and take cooperation to a new level.

CMG and Rossiyskaya Gazeta will focus on building a series of commentary programs under the framework of the joint commentary studio.

The column will jointly plan and write comment articles on major events of the two countries, and deeply interpret the general trend of the development of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination. The commentaries will be published on platforms such as the newspaper and the website of Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

On the same day, the joint commentary studio also officially released a special issue marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, which is also the studio's first product.
