Police apply for arrest of scandal-hit vaccine company officials

Police in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province, have applied to prosecutors to approve the arrest of 18 people at Changchun Changsheng Life Sciences, including the head of the company, surnamed Gao, the police said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, during the investigation which started from July 23, it can be mostly confirmed that Changchun Changsheng Life Sciences, a major vaccine producer in China, was making substandard rabies vaccines for human use, which was suspected of violating China’s drug production quality management protocols.
