Armed police in northwest China saved 12 people trapped by a ferocious storm on an expressway in Karamay City in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The storm, with wind speeds up to 37 meters per second, swept through the city on December 1, carrying along with it sand and stones. Armed police locally stationed received reports and sent out 24 officers and four armored vehicles to search and managed to rescued those trapped in the storm.
