Eight killed in roadside bomb blast in western Afghanistan

At least eight people were killed and 40 others wounded after roadside bomb blast struck a passenger bus in western Afghanistan's Farah Province on Tuesday, Xinhua reported, citing a local official.
The bus was on its way from western Herat province to the national capital of Kabul when it touched off an improvised explosive device (IED) along a main road in Lakhshak locality of Bala Buluk district, the provincial government said in a statement.
Among those killed was a woman and several other women and children were among the injured.
The statement blamed Taliban for planting the IED.
