Joel Embiid was the star of the night for the 76ers as he scored 27 points and 12 rebounds for his side, which returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2012, winning 20 out of 21 games before they were humbled by the Celtics in three straight times in this year’s conference semifinals. Dario Saric amassed 27 points and 10 rebounds while Ben Simmons scored 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
The match went down to the wire as Embiid had a chance to tie it after Tatum made it 111-109 with 18.8 seconds left. But he squandered the chance in the dying moments.
